At Paragon Star, we are currently a small team of self-starters who aren’t afraid of wearing multiple hats or getting our hands dirty, but as the development has started to come to fruition, we have expanded our team to help this vision become a reality.
Paragon Star is a sports and entertainment district in Lee’s Summit that will feature everything from sand volleyball and pickleball courts to top local restaurants and luxury apartments. At the cornerstone of the Sports and Recreation Complex will be ten FIFA-quality pro soccer fields.
As a retired professional American soccer defender and a veteran in the soccer industry, Chris Duke brings more than 25 years of coaching, operations, and management experience to the team. His experience in, and passion for, soccer made him a perfect addition to the Paragon Star team as the Director of Sports Operations and Events. Within this role, Chris will develop and lead all Paragon Star sports activities and events, such as leagues, tournaments, and practices – and he’ll be responsible for showing us all up on the soccer field.

What made you want to join Paragon Star?
My attraction to join the Paragon Star team was that the Paragon Star leadership is creative and innovative and wants to provide a world-class customer experience. I am excited to work with our team to achieve the goal of making Paragon Star the pinnacle of sports and entertainment developments.
What excites you most about your role at Paragon Star?
What excites me the most about my role is that this team has the capacity and capability to provide a state-of-the-art sports environment like no other. We will set the bar high for offering leagues, tournaments, and entertainment.
What are three words that best describe you and why?
Driven, Communicative, Energetic
Driven because I want to achieve the maximum out of everything I do. I put in place a plan to accomplish what needs to be done.
Communicative because that is the key to building strong relationships and being part of a great team. I believe in having solid relationships in business and in family.
Energetic because I am competitive and have a winning attitude.
What do you like to do outside of work for fun?
I love spending time with my family and traveling to areas where there is water and outdoor activities.
